Dr. David W. Price, Lead (Senior) Pastor


David grew up in Ohio, Tennessee, and Illinois.

He was licensed by the Assemblies of God in 1982 and ordained in 1984.  He co-planted a church in Minneapolis from 1979-1982.  He pastored Palisade Assembly of God church from 1982-1984.  He planted New Life Assembly of God in McGregor, Minnesota from 1984 to 1989.  He was the Lead (senior) Pastor at First Assembly of God in Wheaton, Illinois from 1991 to 2011.

David has earned a Bachelors Degree in Pastoral Studies from North Central Bible College (Minneapolis, Minnesota), a Masters Degree in Theology from Wheaton College Graduate School (Wheaton, Illinois), and a Doctor of Philosophy in History from London Metropolitan University, (Great Britain).

Throughout three decades of ministry David has had a passion for preaching, teaching, and world missions.  He has done extensive missions’ work in Romania and South Africa.  He has also been a guest on both Christian radio and television. 

Aside from his role as a senior pastor, Dr. Price is an adjunct graduate school professor for the history department of Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas.  He currently teaches online courses in Medieval History and Modern Europe. 

David and his wife, LuAnn have two adult children.  Their son, Dominie, serves in the United State’s Army Special Forces.  He is a weapons specialist and a veteran of three tours in Iraq.  Their daughter, Alexie, is currently completing a Master’s Degree in English at Columbia College, Chicago, IL.

David Murton, Minister of Visitation
 
Dave grew up in Michigan, attended Alma College, and spent three years in the United States Army. He has always been involved in lay ministry serving in various capacities in his church as moderator, trustee, deacon, Christian Education Committee member, and Sunday School teacher.

Under the auspices of his denomination, the United Church of Christ, he successfully completed a two year training program and in 1983 was commissioned as a certified lay minister. Later, he underwent more extensive training to become a Steward Staff Associate serving from 1984 to 2005, and in 1987, he became the Michigan Conference field representative. In 1991 he led their stewardship program and Planned Giving Ministry, doing consultant work and meeting directly with over 180 churches in the conference. The Lord has used him in helping many churches develop financial planning and in establishing endowments. He was subsequently tapped by the Florida conference to do the same work.

The national conference enlisted his services to conduct seminars around the nation. He produced three videos which the national headquarters makes available as a resource to any of its churches around the country.

He now spends much time here as Minister Visitation for the Great Outdoors Church. His ministry includes visiting, encouraging, and serving those who are experiencing illness and various other kinds of difficulties.

Dave and his wife Bonnie have a blended family consisting of 6 children, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Wes Hyde, Minister of Small Groups/Administration

Wes grew up in Ottawa, Ontario where he received his elementary and secondary education. Answering to God’s call, he enrolled in Nyack College in Nyack, NY where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Theology and Pastoral Studies.

From 1966 through 1973 Wes served as pastor in two churches, first in Jersey City, NJ and then in Binghamton, NY. He was ordained to the Christian Ministry in 1969.

God then presented Wes with a call to enter the field of public education. In preparation, he received a Masters degree in Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Cortland then received a Certificate of Advanced Studies degree in Educational Administration and Supervision completing studies at Syracuse University and SUNY Cortland.

As an educator, Wes served for 33 years in several capacities: as an elementary teacher, elementary principal, superintendent and the last 11 years of his career as the district superintendent and executive officer for the Oswego County Board of Cooperative Educational Services. He retired on December 31, 2002.

Wes and his wife Martha have two children, a daughter Julie who is married with one grandchild living in New York State and a son Jason who is single living in Vero Beach, Florida.
